▲ What is ASD, Associated Science and Development?
Associated Science and Development is a high-end human spacecraft weapons manufacturer headquartered on Persei (Rhetor II). Among their common products are energy weapons, distortion cannons, rail guns, and shredders. The company’s reputation suffered a blow after their EE6 Electron Cannon suffered a catastrophic malfunction that resulted in several deaths during its public unveiling.
With the recent Second Life Initiative introduced by Imperator Addison relaxing restrictions on scientific research to combat the regen crisis, ASD has re-entered the news after allegations surfaced that a facility under the control of one of their lead scientists, Dr. Logan Jorrit, has been conducting cruel and unethical experiments on irradiated animals within the massive storms of Pyro I in order to harvest irradiated Valakkar pearls. Public fallout was swift. ASD has placed Jorrit on administrative leave and sworn to launch an internal investigation, but claims that the lab’s location in Pyro, as well as the Second Initiative, allows for a much wider operating policy under the law. Once again, ASD finds itself at the center of controversy, this time not for a failed weapon, but for how far it’s willing to go in the name of scientific progress.
Since turning its hand to the regen crisis, ASD has been front-page news for all the wrong reasons. Alleged illegal experiments, animal torture, irradiated valakkar, you name it. The truth needs uncovering, and that’s where you come in.
▲ What are Onyx Facilities?
The Onyx Facilities are a network of abandoned research sites scattered throughout the Stanton system, totaling nearly a hundred. While there is still light security in these locations, ASD has abandoned the facilities. Players and mercenary NPCs alike will be exploring these derelict Associated Science and Development (ASD) installations to recover data, solve puzzles, and uncover the mysteries within these hazardous environments.
ASD’s newly uncovered Onyx facilities have been left to rot for too long. Failing tech. An unstable power core. Abandoned test subjects left to survive on the meat of the poor workers trapped down there. They’re relying on us to uncover the truth and expose the corporation that left them to perish.
▲ How do I get started? How to go to these Onyx Facilities?
In Alpha 4.3.0, the first two wings were available. Arken Mallor, a new mission giver from Hockrow Agency, tasked you with venturing into these abandoned ASD Onyx Facilities, to recover whatever research data still exists, and to uncover the true extent of ASD’s experiments into the regen crisis.
With the release of Alpha 4.3.1, an additional wing has been implemented: Site B. Arken Mallor invites players to return to the Onyx facilities to explore the previously locked Site-B, the deepest point of the facility, housing Dr. Jorrit’s lab and the darkest revelations within.

In Phase 3, Arken Mallor will ask you to go back to the Onyx Facilities to gather new data and explore Dr. Jorrit’s Lab, the mysterious Site-B.
Research LabsDiscover multiple data collection points containing valuable research data and audio logs that reveal the mysterious circumstances behind the facility’s abandonment.
EngineeringNavigate hazardous power systems and radiation zones while demonstrating careful environmental awareness and planning.
Site BExplore the darkest revelations within Dr. Jorrit’s labs, and conduct a bio-mechanical experiment to retrieve more biological samples related to his work. Players will need to retrieve data from the Research Labs and Engineering to perform that experiment in Site B.
