Are there populated UEE Systems that we (the players) don’t know about?

Hi all,

By this, I mean, are there systems out there that aren’t on the current Starmap because they don’t have any significant lore?

I’m curious because there’s the 100/400 numbers thrown around, but are the 300 ‘unknown’ systems not yet discovered/conquered (the equivalent of nullsec systems from EVE-O, if you play that), or places within the UEE sphere of influence?

This is mainly because I love writing a bit of fiction about universes I’m interested in, and was hoping to create my own system for that purpose, complete with UEE presence and a pirate gang, etc. Also, we live in a galaxy of over 100 billion stars, so I thought there’d be a few more mentioned.

Thanks in advance for any concrete replies!

Hi @Timberley –

We answered your question in this installment of Loremakers: Community Questions (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/spectrum-dispatch/19668-Loremakers-Community-Questions). Adding our answer here too so it lives in this thread. Thanks for the question!

Question
Answer: The Starmap represents all of the systems known to the Humans/UEE, so any additional systems discovered would be new for Humanity too. There are two exceptions though. Oretani system was an early UEE system that got cut off when the single jump point connecting it to Ferron system collapsed suddenly in 2485. This trapped all the early terraformers and settlers in the system so it’s possible that, if they’re still around, their society might have evolved in ways unknown (or even different) to the rest of Humanity. The other would be if the crew of the Artemis were able to land somewhere that had not yet been found by the rest of Humanity.
