[3.22.1 EPTU] Feedback: Why Fights in 3.22.1 ePTU are further away and Positional Combat is not happening

I completely disagree on weapon capacitor changes and 45s.

Slower regeneration and “fatigue” does nothing but artificially limit your ability to fight. It makes winning fights outnumbered nearly impossible, and it means that you can only fight until your Gladius runs out of mana and gets too tired. I love dogfighting because I enjoy the . I want to stay in it and fight until the bitter end, pushing my ship to the limit until I’m finally disabled or destroyed. In live MM, the moment you run out of boost or weapons, the fight is over. You have zero options left. You can’t kill anything and you can’t outmaneuver anything. It is not enjoyable.

You could easily solve the issue of fire saturation with shorter weapon ranges, damage drop-off, or shield regeneration changes.

Fighting in pitch just feels awful. All you can do is upstrafe, and you almost head tracking to even keep up with a fight. 45s are the optimal angle to fight in on a standard monitor for visibility, and pitch is the worst. Even if there is a little bit more skill with a single optimal rotational axis, the ships feel absolutely terrible to fly in pure pitch. The system was also broken, such that aiming at a 45 in live MM wouldn’t actually move the nose at a 45 degree angle. It would actually pitch up instead of aiming where I pointed my VJoy, which honestly made me feel sick after playing for about an hour. If I’m going to be in the cockpit of a ship for hours, I don’t want it to feel like a straitjacket, and I don’t want its nose to feel like it has a mind of its own.

The new rotation system in 3.22.1 was such a relief when I first got to experience it, and I have to thank Yogi for compromising on this with us.

This does not mean that we will keep the changes though. We’re still iterating and I am not convinced that the new attitude limiter is the right thing as it does reduce the variation and makes it extremely easy to get to the max performance of your ship.
