Question: it says “other” types of pumpkins are allowed if a carvable pumpkin cannot be easily obtained… would a 3D printed “carved” pumpkin be allowed?

We understand that it can be hard sometimes to get ahold of carving pumpkins where you geographically are, and we are, therefore, allowing pumpkin substitutes. As this contest has been expanded this year to include not only carved but also painted pumpkins, we’ll also allow the use of 3D-printed pumpkins as a base for your pumpkin designs. This means that you are cleared to 3D-print a whole pumpkin, to be painted and decorated for submission to the “Painted” category.

For now, however, we’d prefer not to have 3D-printed “carved” pumpkins, i.e., pumpkins printed with final designs that are “ready for submission” upon completion of the 3D print. We can’t wait to see what y’all come up with!
